Walk with Us Towards a Decade of Impact – the Ten4Ten Initiative

From One Brave Choice to a Movement of Many.

On the first Saturday of July 2016, a quiet but courageous decision changed countless lives.

A young artist – and a survivor of child violence – stood at a crossroads. The world was beginning to notice his talent. The spotlight was warming. Fame was within reach. Yet instead of stepping fully into that light, he turned back toward the shadows where many children still lived with unspoken pain.

He chose art not as performance, but as purpose.

That choice led to a small visit to a children’s home. No grand funding. Just paint, conversations, presence, and compassion. Children who had learned to be silent were invited to speak – with music, with colour, with movement, and with imagination.

That day, the idea of Art for Children Foundation (A4C) was conceptualized.

Ten years later, that simple act of service has grown into a trusted, community-rooted organization using art and mentorship to provide children with safe paths out of psychological and social effects of violence and provide young adults with scholarship opportunities to pursue their dreams.

What We Believe

At A4C, we believe that:

  • Every child deserves a safe space — physically, emotionally, and creatively
  • Art is not a luxury; it is a language for healing and self-discovery
  • Child protection is a shared responsibility, not a solo effort
  • Communities are strongest when children are heard, protected, and empowered
  • Education is the key component to a vibrant and engaged society.
  • Volunteers are the driving force of change in the community.

Through creative expression and consistent mentorship, children are supported to process their experiences safely, build self-worth, and imagine futures beyond survival.

A Decade of Impact

On the first Saturday of this July 4th, we will be marking a decade of impact in the community. Over the past ten years, A4C has worked closely with children’s homes, caregivers, volunteers, and community partners, integrating art and mentorship to support children’s emotional wellbeing, resilience, and leadership.
