On the 23rd of March 2024, A4C Volunteers had the privilege of visiting and interacting with the children at the Asante Children’s Home, nestled in Nyondia Naivasha. This heartfelt encounter was a testament to our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of children through art and mentorship. During our visit, we engaged with the children in a variety of activities designed to foster creativity, learning, and personal development. One of the highlights of our visit was providing keyboard lessons, reading sessions, and face-to-face mentorship discussions. These sessions covered topics ranging from future career goals to personal development, offering valuable insights and guidance to the children.

In addition to mentorship, we also offered counselling services facilitated by our trained volunteer counsellors. These sessions provided a safe space for the children to express their thoughts, emotions, and concerns, while receiving support and guidance from compassionate professionals.

Furthermore, we facilitated creative art projects by providing the children with art supplies such as colored paper, glue, scissors, and markers. Through painting and drawing activities, we encouraged the children to explore their creativity and express themselves artistically, fostering a sense of self-expression and confidence.

As the day drew to a close, we gathered for a word of prayer, reflecting on the meaningful connections we had forged and the positive impact we had made. Though our time together was brief, the memories and lessons shared will continue to resonate in the hearts and minds of both the children and our dedicated team.
At the Art For Children Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of art and mentorship to inspire, empower, and uplift young lives. Our visit to Asante Children’s Home was a poignant reminder of the importance of nurturing creativity, providing mentorship, and offering support to children in need.
As we bid our goodbyes, we left with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to continue making a difference in the lives of children, one brushstroke at a time.
