On 7th December, Art for Children Foundation (A4C) held its end-of-year volunteer appreciation party in a warm and welcoming environment, bringing together volunteers to celebrate a year of service, impact, and teamwork.
The party was generously hosted at the home of one of our volunteers, whose family offered both their house and compound free of charge. They went even further by slaughtering two chickens for the occasion. This act of kindness reflected the true spirit of volunteerism — giving without expecting recognition or payment and making a meaningful impact even from behind the scenes.

The day was filled with joy, laughter, and delicious meals. Some volunteers arrived early to prepare and cook food for the rest of the team, while others helped coordinate directions and followed up on everyone’s estimated time of arrival. Another group led indoor team-building activities such as dance challenges and balloon-popping games, creating a lively and relaxed atmosphere.
These activities helped break the ice among volunteers. Throughout the year, A4C projects are implemented based on volunteer availability, which means the full team rarely comes together in one activity. The party provided a valuable opportunity for volunteers to connect, bond, and strengthen their sense of unity.

Later in the day, the team gathered over a shared meal for a reflection meeting. Volunteers looked back on the year, shared lessons learned and discussed areas for internal improvement. This feedback is important in helping A4C better engage and support its volunteers, improve their welfare, and strengthen project delivery — all towards building a child-violence-free community.
The informal meeting concluded with a discussion on plans for the coming year, as A4C prepares to mark a decade of impact in the community.
