Volunteers play a vital role in achieving the aim of Art for Children Foundation.
Volunteering gives one an opportunity to change people’s lives, including ones own. It gives one the satisfaction of playing a role in someone else’s life, helping people who may not be able to help themselves. Volunteering is a way of giving back to the community while developing important social skills and gaining valuable work experience all at the same time.
"The best way to not fell hopeless is to get up and do something. Don't wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good thing happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope"
- Barack Obama
“Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve…. You don’t have to know the second theory of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
- Martin Luther King, Jr.
“You make a living by what you get. You make a life by what you give.”
- Winston Churchill
"If you make that extra mile, there's nothing that you can't manage"
- Uhuru Kenyatta
“I’m very conscious of the fact that you can’t do it alone. It’s teamwork. When you do it alone you run the risk that when you are no longer there nobody else will do it... There are opportunities even in the most difficult moments.... Finally I was able to see that if I had a contribution I wanted to make, I must do it, despite what others said. That I was OK the way I was. That it was all right to be strong.”
- Prof. Wangari Maathai
